Ian has been practicing psychiatry for over 25 years. His experience ranges from treatment of depression and anxiety to extensive experience in medico-legal assessments and report writing.

​

Ian graduated from The University of Sydney in 1987 and then completed three years as a general resident medical officer at major teaching hospitals in Sydney, before commencing psychiatry training.

He completed 5 years of post-graduate training as a psychiatrist at the Rozelle and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals, as well as gaining experience in community mental health at the Glebe and Leichhardt Community Medical Centres. He subsequently commenced work in private practice in 1995.

 

Ian is an LGBTQIA+ friendly psychiatrist.

Ian has presented papers at Australian and international conferences. He has a particular interest in the overlap of psychology and international politics.
